Where to start?

As unfortunate as it is, I haven't felt as comfortable wearing lolita in Ireland as I did back in Finland and it really shows in the level of inactivity on this blog. I never even got to making an order post on the dress in the outfit photo from May last year. That red Bodyline dress was ordered along with the same dress in pink and the pink Bodyline dress I wore to Hellocon.

I never intended to wear any of the three dresses as they came, but with the Hellocon outfit I didn't have enough time to alter the dress for my liking, since the decision to go was so sudden.
The other two dresses on the other hand I did alter by cutting off the ruffle in the middle part of the skirt.

If my old photos are to be trusted I received the order back in June 2015 and never wore any of the items until the red dress in May 2016. In addition to the three dresses mentioned, I got three blouses in different colours.

I wanted to get back to blogging quickly because I used to love doing it, so I'm leaving the blouses for another post. And as a little update on the promised post on my tsum tsums: WE ARE MOVING COUNTRY, so the tsum tsums are all packed away, but I will see if I can take them out for some photos.

A surprise visit to Hellocon!

Last Thursday I happened to mention to my boyfriend that I would have wanted to go to Helsinki Lolita Convention since it was going to be the last. He asked if he should find me a flight, and I said okay then! The following morning I was already on a plane to Helsinki.
-....-.....-......-..........-......-.....-....-
Originally I had packed my dark blue Infanta dress, but at the last minute I changed it to a pink dress. Of course, I did not remember to change the tights I 'd packed to match the pink dress, but luckily I did at least have some plain (ugly) white cotton tights to wear on the day.

Blouse: Bodyline
Dress: Bodyline

I did a little tour in the hall to see what they were selling before the opening ceremony. I didn't buy anything yet, but there was a dress that I was considering buying. I noticed a few other people looking at the same dress later, but luckily it was still there when I decided to get it. Picture of the dress is at the end of this post. :)

I had never seen any of Baby's dresses in real life before and the coarseness of the fabric suprised me.

The opening ceremony was very brief introducing the schedule and guests.

The designer fashion show was the first on the list. I took too many pictures, so here's just a few of my favourites.

I really enjoyed the interview of Baby's designer Kano Masumi. She told us that we can look forward to new animal prints and prints inspired by the countries their designers have been travelling to in the future!

The "World Championship of Bow Tying" was over very quickly. I was sitting in a bad place to see any of the tying action, but I managed to get a picture of the winning bow.

Lolita Project Runway was also over quickly. The one in the middle was the clear winner.

The final thing that I stayed at Hellocon for was the Baby the Stars Shine Bright fashion show.
Again I took way too many pictures to include them all in this post, so here are just my favourites.

I was getting really hungry and I had already done all of the shopping I wanted to, so I left right after the fashion show.

Finally, as promised, here is the picture of the Belladonna dress I bought at the event.
I also bought a blouse from the Lolita Collective table.

Disney shopping in London

As said in the previous post, I wanted to get more tsum tsum things in London. We were so focused on hunting tsum tsum that we didn't go shopping in any other stores than Disney Stores and toy stores that sell tsum tsum. :P

During the whole trip, we visited three different Disney Stores. The first store we went into was the store on Oxford Street.

The Oxford Street store is the first Disney Store I've ever been to, and I didn't remember it being so beautiful from the inside.

The following day we went to the Disney Store in Westfield. My camera decided to focus on the window on the right, so unfortunately the picture I have of the store isn't that great. I really loved the little glass balls around the whole store with toys and pictures of Disney characters in them.

On our second day we also had a quick visit to the small store in Covent Garden.
The staff in the store was much friendlier than in any of the other Disney Stores in London. One of the staff members even recommended a 'secret' cocktail bar, but we don't drink, so we didn't test the place.

I almost completely missed the Mickey decoration in the corner. I only saw it when we were leaving the store.

And here's what we got:
I always keep a bottle of water in my bag when I go out, so when I saw the tsum tsum bottle in Dublin I knew I had to get it. When I finally decided to go buy it they didn't have it anymore, so I had to get it on our trip to London. I also decided to get the travel fork and spoon to keep in my bag for lunch.
I wasn't going to buy anything else, but later in another store I decided to get the Winnie the Pooh bowl for ice cream, and my boyfriend encouraged me to get the cups to go with it.

My boyfriend wanted to get the Captain America tsum tsum after we watched the latest movie but, they didn't have any of them left in the Dublin store, so we had another reason to visit Disney Stores in London. He ended up getting the Iron Man tsum on our second day to have a friend for Captain America.

Wearing lolita again and tsum tsums

Exams and assignment are over! That marks the end of my second year of studies here in Dublin.
To celebrate the end of exams I wore lolita for the first time in over a year. I do not have any flat black lolita shoes, so I tried to excuse wearing normal shoes by wearing my punk style jacket with the dress.
Headband: Rococo Soul
Dress: Bodyline

As you may notice from the picture, I now have short hair. :) I got my hair cut shorter last summer and at the start of this year I got it cut even shorter. It has grown quite a bit since then. It was actually too short three months ago, but it's a good length now. I've had long hair since the start of this blog, but right now I'm much happier with shorter hair.

In other news, I've been visiting the Disney Store at least once a week, so naturally we have collected a few tsum tsums. We don't buy that many tsum tsums because we only get the ones that we really like. We currently own 10 tsum tsums, and we've bought two for my mother as well.
These are the lastest additions to our little collection. I went to the Disney Store with my boyfriend the day they released the new Alice set and I got myself three tsums from the collection. We went there again later that week when they were having a sale and got a medium Donald and a regular Piglet for my mum. The Piglet on the left is one we got from Paris last year. My mother loved it so much when I took it to Finland with me last Christmas that I had to get her her own Piglet.

I will make a post about all of the tsum tsums we have after I get back from my trip. I went to Finland alone for Easter, but today I'm flying there with my boyfriend. We are staying in Finland until the end of this week and on Sunday we are going to London for two nights. Hopefully we'll get to add more tsum tsums to our collection from London!

White shoes from Bodyline, s522

As soon as I say I haven't been busy I get busy... I completely forgot I was going to go to Finland for two weeks and had to finish an assignment by the following Monday from when I was flying back to Dublin. That assignment is now done and I have a ton of other assignments waiting to be done.

But, here is the promised new lolita post. :) I felt like I needed a pair of white shoes to wear with sweet lolita because I've gotten into a bit more into a toned down classic look, rather than the pink and bright look that I previously preferred. So, a while back, before my trip to Finland, I ordered a pair of shoes from Bodyline. I actually forgot I had ordered them and was confused when my boyfriend told me that my shoes have arrived.

Because I forgot I ordered them I don't remember how long exactly it took for them to arrive, but it was at least over two weeks since I had time to visit Finland before I got them.

I had been looking at the s507 shoes for over a year and wanted to get them, but after a long consideration I got the s522 instead. My boyfriend isn't much taller than me, so flat shoes are better.
I had ordered four pairs of shoes from Bodyline before. Only the first two came in boxes, so I was happy to see that I got a box again with my 5th shoe order. The new box is slightly smaller and darker in colour than the other two boxes I got before. But the other two boxes are too big for the shoes, so I think their new shoe boxes are much better.

The shoes fit me perfectly, but I think they curve up a bit too much at the front, which makes them look a bit silly to me when looking at them from the side. I will write a more detailed review on the shoes later as usual.

I also got my first wrist cuffs in the same order.

I'm still struggling to be happy with the look of my blog, so I'll have to do something about it again once I'm done with all of the assignments. And hopefully I'll have time to wear lolita again soon. I still haven't gone out of the house in lolita since I moved here. I saw some lolitas in the city a few weeks back though. I wished I had been wearing lolita that day. :D

It's been too long

The longer I wait to make a new post, the harder it will be to get started with it. I haven't even been wearing lolita since I moved to Ireland. I've only put on the new Infanta dress twice at home and taken pictures of it. I never "quit" lolita, it just kind of happened, and then I became scared to get back into it again. (I actually bought three new dresses last year, never worn) And I've also been scared to come back to my blog and see how it looks. I certainly need to update the layout. :D

I am going to get back into lolita and wearing cute clothes in general. I used to wear skirts or dresses every day in upper secondary, but now I have been wearing mostly just black jeans. Setting up lights and cameras in lolita would not do good to the clothes, and it might cause huge hazards to everyone when I'd knock over everything with my skirts, so... wearing lolita to college does, unfortunately, not work for me. And on my spare time I've mostly been at home and gone out for quick shops to get food in whatever I could find in the pile of shirts I had on my couch.

I will get back to making proper lolita/cute posts next week. I hope this post made at least a little bit of sense. :P I'm writing this in a hurry before going out to shop with my boyfriend (I have a boyfriend now??!?!?!?!?) to get it finally out of the way. I might come back to this post and edit it later, but now I have to get dressed and go out!

I don't like leaving posts without images, so here's a little picture of cute tights I found here. I could never find anything this cute in Finland.

EDIT 11pm: I couldn't leave the blog looking as it did, so I made a new banner. I'm not completely happy with how it turned out, but I feel more comfortable with the colours now. I spent so much time adjusting the brightness and contrast of the image, and it still doesn't quite match the text. I'll probably remake the text layer with a different font for the banner some day, but for now I'll just leave the text as it was in the old one. :)

The old banner and colours.
